I'm looking for a paint that can be handpainted in thin but full layers, or something that stains the plastic rather than creating a layer over it like acrylics.What's the best type of paint for painting plastic models?
Don't give up on the craft acrylics...you can water them down to apply thin layers, and you can also mix them with various mediums to achieve different effects. If you really want to avoid acrylics, try Dr. PH Martin's dyes...not sure if they will adhere to a hard, smooth plastic surface.
