Can tempera paint be used on plastic?

Can tempera paint be used on plastic or styrafoam? Can tempera paint be used on plastic?
Absolutely not. it will not stick, it will peel right off. For plastic I would use enamel paint, or fusion spray paint. Can tempera paint be used on plastic?
No-it is more chalky and will flake off. Its made for paper. Try the new acrylic enamels that are out. They are inexpensive and easy to use and water based. You can buy them in the craft section of Walmart, in JoAnns and Micheals etc.Your need is for a paint with plasticides in it-like an oil, but thats too much of a hassle-so these should work well.About 1.50-3.00 for 2 oz-goes a long way.
no. and why would you want to use something expensive on Styrofoam anyway?
Tempera could be used on anything that it will stick to for sure. The only probably is that is is really a dull finish when it dries....and it could come off very easily. To be a little more blunt with my answer.....No, I would not waste my time putting tempera on plastic....or for that matter anything else other than a painting that I intended to frame and put under glass.
