Can I paint a plastic playhouse?

What's the best kind of paint to use?

It's something like this -

Someone has offered it free on Freecycle, but it's been written all over and very stained/dirty. Thanks. Can I paint a plastic playhouse?
Krylon makes a spray paint just for plastic. It will not peel or flake. Take a look: http://www.krylon.com/products/fusion_fo鈥?/a>Can I paint a plastic playhouse?
David is correct about using Krylon. It is specifically engineered for this purpose and will hold up well for you. I would suggest obviously cleaning the surface with a mild degreaser or dish soap and warm water solution, then let it dry, then use Krylon. Good luck.

I have a whole section dealing with spraypainting surfaces on my website at http://thepaintprofessional.com/ so feel free to stop by and pick up some free tips and suggestsions.

PS- don't use valspar exterior latex paint like the other person suggested. This will not hold up on this plastic surface. It will work on Vinyl sidind but definitely not on this playset.
You should be able to paint the plastic house.

First scrub it clean with a scrub brush and soap %26amp; water.

Rinse well and allow to dry for a couple of days.

Then use a good quality exterior latex paint that is similar in shade to the existing plastic. In other words, do not paint it with dark colors.

I recently used Valspar exterior on my garage vinyl siding and got excellent results. Cost about $30. a gallon. Worth every penny. You may need 2 coats of paint to cover.

1. Clean

2. Dry

3. Paint.
