The only paint that will stick to plastic is plastic paint. It hasn't been around long...

Of course, you can always prime your milk gallons with oil-based primer... and then paint with plain acryllic paint over it. That will also do the trick. But since you'd be working with oil, I suggest you prime them beforehand and then let them dry for a day or 2 and then let the kids paint them.Any ideas for decorating white plastic milk gallon containers?? Thanks for the best answer, but I think you meant the other person, as I didn't write about bird houses...! But thanks anyway... You can always see the profile of the other person to see if she allows email and ask her for pictures that way...

Are you wanting crafts ideas as well? Last Fall my kids and I recycled our jugs by paintin them orange and the putting black jack-lantern faces on them. Cut out a hole and stick in a tealight.

Also my Daisy troop made bird houses out of them
