How do you paint a highly glossy plastic figure?

I have a plastic figure that is very glossy, and I really want to paint it. What kind of paint should I use?

Use steel wool to prep the surface then paint with enamel. A roughed up surface should take most any oil or poly based paints. Depends on your desired results.
