What causes spray paint for plastic to separate and form small pits on plastic dash parts?

the surface probably wasn't clean enough,if there was any old armor all or any other chemicals on it that will cause it to do that,what you have to do is clean it really good and then wipe it down with alcohol before you paint it,and don't paint it if its hot or in the sun that too will cause it to separate on it,if the surface is really clean on it,it should go on and look really good,good luck with it.What causes spray paint for plastic to separate and form small pits on plastic dash parts?
The surface is not clean enough. It has oil on it, probably from fingers or cleaners (armorall etc).They make some plastic cleaner too that will take off all oils and silicones. Give that a try before painting.
Try a good cleaning, get a scuff pad from the auto paint shop, scuff, prime, paint, should work out.
i ahve had this problem myself. the first part i painted did this too. the next part i paintedi cleaned more thoroughly, with an alcohal prep pad. and it worked perfect.
